The telescope mirrors, which type of telescopes are they used in?

The telescope mirrors is used in the reflector telescopes. The other popular type is the refractor telescopes which use glass lenses instead of mirrors.

Simply put a telescope gathers light right? Well a reflector telescope has a primary telescope mirror. The Primary mirror gathers lots of light from a object and brings it or the image to a point of focus.

The telescope eyepieces lens takes that light/image from the primary mirror and magnifies it. Combine the two together and you have a telescope where you can see an object from far distance.

The aperture is the diameter of the mirror. The diameter size is a factor on how much light is gathered.
