Mercury is smaller planet just about the same size our moon.

Mercury does not have any moons and is the closest planet to the sun. Did you know if you were standing on mercury you would weigh a lot less? That is because of how much smaller the planet is compared to earth. A 70 pound person would only weight 27 pounds!

Mercury spins very slowly and is really close to the sun. Because of this it can be extremely hot or extremely cold. Mercury has very little atmosphere, that is because the suns solar flares have blown it away.

Quick Facts:

Mercury makes one complete orbit around the sun in 87.97 days
It has mountains, ridges valleys and lots of craters.
No moons
