History of hubble space telescope

History of hubble space telescope : a comprisable look at the history of the famous space telescope.

Built  in 1985 it wasn’t launched until april 25th 1990 on the space shuttle. Directly after launch nasa was finding the telescope to be out of focus. The problem was the mirror was too flat by only 1 /50th of the width of a piece of human hair.

December 1993 Nasa planned a mission to repair and modify hubble. The space shuttle endeavor modified the telescope with a camera which fixed the primary mirror.

The second service mission was in 1997. They exchanged some instruments and added  new blankets that are ment to keep the telescope warm.

Hubbles original life expenses was to be 2005. October 1997 Nasa decided to extend its operations to 2010.

Novemeber 1999 the fourth misson. The space shuttle repairs and upgrades hubble telescope.

Achievements of Hubble

June 1994: NASA releases Orion Nebula images that prove the births of planets around newborn stars.

November 1995: NASA releases Eagle Nebula images showing where stars are born.

January 1996: NASA releases the "Deep Field" images in which Hubble peers back in time more than 10 billion years. Reveals at least 1,500 galaxies at various stages of development.

February 2001: New images "ant nebula".
