For astronomical viewing and as well as a spotting scope, the Konus MotorMax 90 is an ultraportable Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope that delivers crisp, high-contrast viewing.
This scope is best used for Solar System and lunar viewing. Fainter, deep-sky objects such as galaxies and nebula are best observed with a larger aperture instrument.
It includes a built in mirror system which allows you a 90° view, or simply flip the mirror for a 45° view. You can even attach your camera to capture the moment. It is easy to assemble, set up and store. The Konus MotorMax 90 includes an equatorial mount with battery-operated motor drive on one axis. This makes it easy to keep the Moon and planets in the field of view for extended hands-free viewing. The mount also has manual slow motion controls, should the battery lose power in the middle of an observing session.
