Celestron nexstar
The celestron nexstar telescope is a uniquely designed scope.
Nexstar is celestron’s GOTO technology. You just find the celestial on a LCD screen located on the units hand held controller and press a few buttons.
The computerized mount hosts a database of over 40,000 celestial objects. Meade and Bushnell’s GOTO telescopes only have 27,000. Hibernate, this unit can goto in a hibernation mode. This allows you to power down the unit and keep your alignment. The units alignment is a 3 star setup, automatically aligns the telescope to the celestial pole.
The mount that comes with the celestron nexstar is very different than the traditional mount. It is a fork mount but with only one arm.
